Breaking News for our US Customers
President Donald Trump announced on Friday, May 23, 2025 that he would impose 50% tariffs on imports from the European Union. He cited what he saw as the slowdown in trade talks between the USA and the EU as the reason for this.
However, President Trump postponed the introduction of the tariffs to July 9, 2025 just two days later. The main reason for this was to give the European Union more time for the ongoing negotiations.
What does this mean for our US Customers?
The most of you already see through Donald Trump’s tactics. He always starts negotiations with an unrealistically high starting point in order to reach a deal at the end. It can be assumed that the import of goods from the European Union will become significantly more expensive after July 9, 2025. Currently, the basic tariff for imports from the EU is 10%. The outcome of the negotiations is still open. It can be assumed that it will not remain at 10%. And if word hasn’t gotten around yet: In the end, it is the American consumer who will have to bear these additional costs.
Urgent need for action for our US Customers
Anyone who has seriously considered ordering one or two Overknee or Thigh High Boots from our online store in the past few days and weeks should do so now. As of today, all goods that leave our warehouse before July 9, 2025 are still subject to the old customs duties.
To eliminate all uncertainty, all our US customers should order now. Nobody knows what will come out of the negotiations between the Trump Administration and the European Union. But one thing is certain: After July 9, 2025, import tariffs will likely be higher than they are today.
